Fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;beroperasi&nbsp;dengan&nbsp;tingkat&nbsp;kecepatan&nbsp;dan&nbsp;kapasitas&nbsp;data&nbsp;tinggi,&nbsp;biasanya&nbsp;digunakan&nbsp;untuk&nbsp;menghubungkan&nbsp;dua&nbsp;titik&nbsp;jaringan&nbsp;dengan&nbsp;daya&nbsp;besar.&nbsp;Kemajuan&nbsp;teknologi&nbsp;yang&nbsp;pesat,&nbsp;terutama&nbsp;dalam&nbsp;telekomunikasi,&nbsp;mendorong&nbsp;pencarian&nbsp;media&nbsp;transmisi&nbsp;yang&nbsp;dapat&nbsp;menangani&nbsp;lalu&nbsp;lintas&nbsp;informasi&nbsp;yang&nbsp;semakin&nbsp;meningkat,&nbsp;baik&nbsp;dari&nbsp;segi&nbsp;kuantitas&nbsp;maupun&nbsp;kualitas.&nbsp;Sebagai&nbsp;respons&nbsp;terhadap&nbsp;kebutuhan&nbsp;ini,&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;dikembangkan&nbsp;dengan&nbsp;berbagai&nbsp;keunggulan.&nbsp;Secara&nbsp;sederhana,&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;adalah&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;yang&nbsp;mengubah&nbsp;sinyal&nbsp;listrik&nbsp;menjadi&nbsp;cahaya&nbsp;dan&nbsp;mengirimkannya&nbsp;dari&nbsp;satu&nbsp;titik&nbsp;(node)&nbsp;ke&nbsp;titik&nbsp;lainnya.&nbsp;Sinyal&nbsp;cahaya&nbsp;dihasilkan&nbsp;melalui&nbsp;transmitter pada&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik,&nbsp;umumnya&nbsp;menggunakan&nbsp;Light Emitting Diode (LED)&nbsp;atau&nbsp;laser.&nbsp;Komponen&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;ini&nbsp;terdiri&nbsp;dari&nbsp;inti (core),&nbsp;selimut&nbsp;(cladding),&nbsp;pelapis&nbsp;(coating), dan&nbsp;pelapis&nbsp;luar&nbsp;(outer jacket),&nbsp;semuanya&nbsp;terbuat&nbsp;dari&nbsp;bahan&nbsp;kaca.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sejarah&nbsp;Jaringan&nbsp;Fiber Optik&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sejarah&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;dimulai&nbsp;dengan&nbsp;paten&nbsp;pertama&nbsp;oleh&nbsp;peneliti&nbsp;Robert Maurer, Donald Keck, dan Peter Schultz. Metode dan&nbsp;bahan&nbsp;komunikasi&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;membuka&nbsp;jalan&nbsp;bagi&nbsp;komersialisasi,&nbsp;dari&nbsp;layanan&nbsp;telepon&nbsp;jarak&nbsp;jauh&nbsp;hingga&nbsp;penyebaran&nbsp;informasi&nbsp;berbasis&nbsp;internet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fungsi&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fungsi&nbsp;utama&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;adalah&nbsp;sebagai&nbsp;media&nbsp;pengirim&nbsp;data&nbsp;dengan&nbsp;kecepatan&nbsp;tinggi. Fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;sering&nbsp;digunakan&nbsp;sebagai&nbsp;landasan&nbsp;jaringan&nbsp;utama&nbsp;dan&nbsp;menjadi&nbsp;kunci&nbsp;dalam&nbsp;implementasi&nbsp;teknologi&nbsp;5G,&nbsp;meskipun&nbsp;infrastrukturnya&nbsp;belum&nbsp;merata&nbsp;di&nbsp;seluruh&nbsp;wilayah.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jenis Kabel Fiber Optik&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jenis&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;meliputi&nbsp;Single Mode,&nbsp;MultiMode&nbsp;(Step Index dan Graded Index).&nbsp;Keunggulan&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;termasuk&nbsp;bandwidth&nbsp;lebih&nbsp;besar,&nbsp;kebal&nbsp;terhadap&nbsp;interferensi,&nbsp;jarak&nbsp;tempuh&nbsp;lebih&nbsp;jauh&nbsp;tanpa&nbsp;regenerasi, maintenance&nbsp;murah, dan&nbsp;keamanan&nbsp;terhadap&nbsp;penyadapan.&nbsp;Namun,&nbsp;kekurangan&nbsp;meliputi&nbsp;biaya&nbsp;instalasi&nbsp;yang&nbsp;tinggi,&nbsp;kompleksitas&nbsp;material,&nbsp;sifat&nbsp;satu&nbsp;arah&nbsp;perambatan&nbsp;cahaya, dan&nbsp;perlengkapan&nbsp;khusus&nbsp;untuk&nbsp;pemotongan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Perangkat&nbsp;terkait&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Perangkat&nbsp;yang&nbsp;terkait&nbsp;dengan&nbsp;kabel&nbsp;fiber&nbsp;optik&nbsp;meliputi&nbsp;Patch Cord, Adapter, Joint Closure, dan Splitter.
